Wooden sheath with embossed leather covering and two aluminium bands. One leather strap and one leather tassel affixed to sheath with copper wire.Treatment included removal of corrosion and tarnishing, cleaning of leather and metal surfaces, consolidation of friable leather, removal of old HM numbers, inspection and treatment of insect bore holes, reaffixing of unraveled leather/metal grip, application of protective surface coating.
