Martini style rifle. Steel barrel, mechanism and stockplate. Dark varnished wooden stock and forward grip. Small metal plaque adhered to stock with palm tree emblem and Arabic text. Modern textile belt attached as strap which is affixed to barrel with wire due to one missing strap hoop. Indent in wood where a brass metal crest would have once been. Visible Marks include EUROPE MANUFACTURE, 577/450. Treatment included cleaning of wood, textile and metal surfaces, removal of corrosion, removal of adhesive stickers and poultice removal of permanent marker to wood, removal of old adhesive, filler and paint residue to stock, consolidation of fracture to stock, application of protective surface coating, dismantlement and lubricating of working mechanisms. Modern belt was removed for display purposes by request of the client.
