Martini Henry style rifle. Steel barrel and mechanism, Belgian proof marked. Wooden stock and forward grip. Missing stockplate. Two stamped silver barrel bands. Textile strap with decorative metal thread. Treatment included cleaning of wood, textile and metal surfaces,  removal of active corrosion, support stitching of fragile strap threads, removal of ink staining to wood from old accession numbers, retouching losses to varnish caused by previous ink removal attempts, application of protective surface coating and lubricating of working mechanisms.
