Long barreled Martini Henry rifle. Wooden stock and forward grip. Steel barrel and mechanism. Pink cotton strap fixed to the barrel with wire. One small silver detail on the underside of barrel. Treatment included cleaning of wood, textile and metal surfaces, removal of ink staining to wood from old accession numbers, removal of corrosion, dismantlement and replacement of parts, toning in losses to varnish caused by previous attempts to remove ink, application of protective surface coating and lubricating of working mechanisms.
