Jazail matchlock musket. Steel barrel and mechanisms. Dark varnished wooden stock with brass plated forward grip and numerous brass barrel bands. Engraved decoration and brass inlay on barrel. Organic fibre fuse and steel matchguard affixed to stock with coloured textile strip and wire. Arabic makers mark located on barrel.

Treatment included cleaning of wood and metal surfaces, removal of corrosion, removal of adhesive stickers and residue, poultice removal of ink, toning in of loss to varnish caused by previous attempts to remove ink, application of protective surface coating, dismantlement and lubricating of working mechanisms.
