During a year long period I conserved historic wallpaper samples for display and for storage within the National Archive for Historic Decoration, located in Chad Varah House, Lincoln. Treatments included the cleaning, stabilisation & consolidation of unstable decorative surfaces, rehydration, bracing of tears and mounting for storage and display.



The wallpaper below was recovered from Farringford House, home of Lord Tennyson, which is currently undergoing major restoration work. The paper required stabilisation, cleaning, rehydration and reforming, repair to tears and detached sections and mounting for display.
